After many times of bumping the yard stick, punching holes in the covering and never getting things truly lined up, out of desperation I came up with these “sticks”.

All you need is two spruce 1/4 inch square by appropriate length sticks, 2 large Tee pins, and a short level.

I p[lace the sticks over the plans and mark where the TE of the wing and stab are, drill two holes and install the Tee pins and super glue them in place. Note: By drilling one or more holes in front of or behind the first holes, one can use the same stick on other models. I do this, plus I have a collection of ten sets. It is amazing how many models have the same numbers as to TE to TE distance.

With the stab temporarily pinned in place, insert the Tee pins between the TE/LE of the flaps and the stab/elevator. Adjust so they are true and check with the square and place the level(s) on each end of the stab and across the center. Square, plumb and true.. Glue the stab in place, keeping an eye on it is the glue dries.
